CASCOS es una pieza que surge a partir de una beca de residencia entre la escuela de arte municipal de La Mercè y el centro de arte contemporáneo Bòlit, 2022 en la ciudad de Girona. Durante mi residencia realicé un trabajo de investigación profundo intentando entender que tipo de ciudad era Girona. En mi búsqueda, me encontré con muchos temas que se superponían en el tiempo. La Historia omnipresente, mediante sus monumentos históricos y la puesta en escena constantemente revisada por los miles de turistas que aterrizan cada año en la ciudad son uno de los temas principales para entender mi trabajo.

Pero como condensar miles de años de historia, pasado, presente y futuro en un proyecto con la finalidad de crear un objeto artístico mediante la cerámica?,

Ante el escaparate de la tienda taller del señor Boix, latero de profesión descubro cuál puede ser el hilo conductor de mi historia. El casco era el objeto de representación que buscaba para explicar las adaptaciones de los diferentes contextos históricos a través del paso del tiempo. Cada Casco representaría un lugar en el tiempo histórico o imaginario que se va adaptando a los tiempos donde estos se entremezclan para crear algo ficticio.

CASCOS is a piece that arose from a residency grant between the municipal art school of La Mercè and the contemporary art centre Bòlit, 2022 in the city of Girona. During my residency I carried out a deep research work trying to understand what kind of city Girona was. In my search, I came across many themes that overlapped in time. The omnipresent History, through its historical monuments and the constantly revised staging by the thousands of tourists that land every year in the city are one of the main themes to understand my work.

But how to condense thousands of years of history, past, present and future in a project with the aim of creating an artistic object through ceramics?

In front of the shop window of the workshop of Mr. Boix.I discovered what the thread of my story could be. The helmet was the object of representation that I was looking for to explain the adaptations of the different historical contexts through the passage of time. Each helmet would represent a place in historical or imaginary time that adapts to the times where these intermingle to create something fictitious.
